New Delhi: Electric scooter rental startup Bounce on Thursday said it has launched its first electric scooter, called Infinity E1 with battery and charger, priced at INR 68,999 (Delhi Ex-showroom).

The scooter will also be offered with a ‘Battery as a service’ option and the price will be INR 45,099 (Delhi Ex-Showroom) plus subscription to Battery-as-a-Service, a company statement said.

Customers can pre-book the scooter by paying a refundable amount of INR 499. Bounce Infinity E1 scooters are FAME- II eligible.

Customers have the choice of acquiring the Bounce Infinity E1 at an affordable price without the battery and use Bounce’s battery spping network instead, it said.

According to the startup, the new scooter comes in five colour options of Sporty Red, Sparkle Black, Pearl White, Desat Silver and Comed Grey. Pre-bookings start today, with deliveries slated for March 2022. It will come equipped with a warranty of 3 years, up to 50,000 km.

Some features in the scooter include digital speedometer, 12-litre boot, geofencing, cruise control, tow alert, twin-disc brake assembly etc. It delivers torque of 83 Nm, top speed of 65 kmph, 0 to 40 kmph in 8 seconds.

The battery is waterproof – IP 67 with 48V 39 AH. It takes 4 to 5 hours to charge and provides a range of 85 km per charge.

“Our advanced ‘Made in India’ scooter will come equipped with enhanced state-of-the-art equipment and intelligent features. We are glad to announce that we are the first and only ones to provide both options – to swap batteries from our network as well as charge-at-home – for the Infinity E1,” he said.

Bounce said that it has been setting up a battery-swapping network through partnerships. “The ambition is to build the world’s largest and densest battery swapping platform to support India’s transition to clean mobility, and offer a swapping facility within one kilometre distance for its customers,” Bounce added.
