Hero MotoCorp July sales at 4.45 lakh units

New Delhi: Indian multinational motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp on Monday reported that it sold 445,580 units in July 2022, against 454,398 units in July 2021, resulting in a marginal Y-o-Y growth of 1.9%.

According to the company regulatory filing, motorcycle sales fell 0.7% YoY to 421,288 units scooter sales 19.8% YoY to 24,292 units.

The company exported 14,896 units in July 2022, it added.

Signaling a steady sequential growth, Hero MotoCorp sold 18,35,773 units of motorcycles and scooters so far (April-July) in FY23. This is a double-digit growth of 24.1% over the corresponding period of FY 22 when the company had sold 14,78,905 units.

In the first month of the second quarter, Hero MotoCorp launched the exclusive Rally Edition of its widely popular motorcycle Xpulse 200 4V and the latest edition of the iconic Super Splendor in Canvas Black Edition, which comes with the triple promise of Super – Power, Super – Mileage and Super – Comfort.

In June, the company announced Hero Dirt Biking Challenge (HDBC) – the first-of-its-kind pan-India talent-hunt programme by an OEM (original equipment manufacturer).

As part of the community welfare programs under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform “Hero WeCare”, Hero MotoCorp launched an Agroforestry project for the people of Jahota village near Jaipur.

Hero MotoCorp inaugurated a Public Health Center (PHC) and a newly-constructed check dam in Chandwaji village which is capable of holding more than 3000 cubic meters of water.

In June, Hero MotoCorp also handed over 1167 Hero Glamour motorcycles to West Bengal Police to enhance mobility.

According to a regulatory filing, a total of two-wheelers registered a growth of 14% in July 2022 with sales increasing from 262,728 units in July 2021 to 299,658 units in July 2022.

The total sales of April and July stood at 7,105 units for 2022 and 3,044 units for 2021– resulting in a growth of 133.41% Y-o-Y, the company said.

The company reported sales of 1,82,956 units of its two-wheelers and commercial vehicles in the domestic market in July, signifying a growth of 9% compared to 1,67,273 units in the same month last year.
