Ola Electric to begin test drives of its e-scooters in more cities, Auto News, ET Auto
New Delhi:Ola Electric on Saturday said it is scaling up customer test rides of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters in the coming weeks in over 1000 cities and towns across the country “to ensure that all customers who have purchased or reserved them will have access to test rides by December 15, 2021,” the company said in a statement.
On November 27 it will start test rides in Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Bhubaneswar, Tiruppur, Jaipur and Nagpur.
On November 10, the EV maker started test rides in Bengaluru, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata and on November 19, in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai and Pune.
Arun Sirdeshmukh, chief business officer, Ola Electric, said, “Thousands of customers are taking test rides every day and absolutely loving the-best-in-class design, performance, technology and ride quality the Ola S1 delivers. We are scaling up test rides rapidly in the coming weeks and will be covering over 1000 cities and towns across India to ensure every customer has access to test rides by mid December.”
On August 15 this year, the company launched its entry-level e-scooter variant with a smaller battery at INR 99,999 and the top-end variant at INR 1,29,999.
The scooters are being manufactured at the Ola Futurefactory in India and the company aims to launch these scooters in Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and other international markets next year, it said.
