Suzuki Motorcycle India sells 76,230 two-wheelers in July

New Delhi: Two-wheeler maker Suzuki Motorcycle India today reported that its total sales stood at 76,230 units in July 2022, signifying a growth of 4.3% YoY. The total motorcycle sales of the company were 73,083 units in July 2021.

Of the total sales, 60,892 motorcycles were sold in the domestic market while the remaining 15,338 units were exported, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) said in a statement.

“This sales number shows an increasing demand in India and overseas. With the gradual improvement in the supply chain, we expect to keep witnessing this sales momentum in the future too,” said Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, SMIPL.

According to a regulatory filing, a total of two-wheelers registered a growth of 14% in July 2022 with sales increasing from 262,728 units in July 2021 to 299,658 units in July 2022.

The company reported sales of 1,82,956 units of its two-wheelers and commercial vehicles in the domestic market in July, signifying a growth of 9% compared to 1,67,273 units in the same month last year.

Signaling a steady sequential growth, the company sold 18,35,773 units of two-wheelers so far (April-July) in FY23. This is a double-digit growth of 24.1% over the corresponding period of FY22 when the company sold 14,78,905 units.
